Trustees will vote on the increase at their next meeting Dec. 10.
Director Brad Bays said the program is priced competitively with other area programs, and offers a higher quality experience. By comparison, Xavier University enrolls 1,000 students and costs from $30,000 to $45,000, he said.
There are currently 71 students enrolled at Miami, ahead of the university’s estimate of having 60 students by year two.
Bays said the challenge with the professional MBA program is not finding students, but securing qualified faculty. Students enrolled in the program range in age from 25 to 50, and the average work experience for students is 11 years.
Bays said not all faculty are cable of teaching the program.
“We think the faculty is going to be our longer term restraint,” he said.
The program runs two nights a week at the Voice of American Learning Center in West Chester Twp.
