Miamisburg man first winner in $1M Ohio Lottery game

Miamisburg resident Danny R. Grushon is the first of four to be selected winners of the $1 million Ohio Lottery Classic Black instant game.

Grushon chose to receive $34,500 yearly for the next 20 years, after mandatory federal and state taxes totaling 31 percent.

“He could have taken a lump sum, but he opted not to,” said Sandra Neal, a spokeswoman for the state lottery.

Grushon purchased the winning ticket from Poelking Lanes South at 8871 Kingsridge Drive in Miami Twp. That establishment will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling a top prize winning ticket, lottery officials said.

This is the first year for the new Classic Black, Neal said, making Grushon Ohio’s first top prize winner of the instant game.

“The other three have not been selected yet,” Neal said.
