Miamisburg Police ask: Do you recognize this suspect in attempted theft case?

The Miamisburg Police Department is asking the public to help detectives identify a male suspected of trying to steal more than $300 worth of merchandise from a city retail store Dec. 3.

Police on Wednesday afternoon released a photo of the man (seen above) as part of their investigation.

According to their preliminary findings, the man pushed a shopping cart with the merchandise past the exit doors without paying for the items and was confronted by the store’s loss prevention officials.

He initially cooperated with the loss prevention officials and returned all the items to the business.

He then gave them a false name, refused to cooperate and fled on foot.
