Miller said the project, which could result in a $15 million investment by the state, would meet a deficiency in boating facilities in this part of the state.
About 3 million people visit the lake every year, according to the Warren County Convention & Visitors Bureau. There are no boat slips or fuel facilities.
Eventually the marina could include 240 slips or more, Miller said during a presentation Tuesday to the commissioners.
“This is a big deal,” Warren County Commissioner Dave Young. ““Tourism is our number 1 industry.”
Miller said people wanting to rent slips should monitor http://parks.ohiodnr.gov/. He predicted a lottery system would be used due to the anticipated demand.
