Montgomery County sheriff’s deputy accused of domestic violence

A Montgomery County sheriff’s deputy is in the Warren County Jail on a charge of domestic violence.

According to Warren County sheriff’s Lt. Ron Day, Deputy Douglas Gearhart, 43, was taken into custody at his residence in Franklin.

Deputies were dispatched there about 7 p.m., said Day, who declined to reveal any details about the incident.

The lieutenant also declined to release any information about Gearhart’s wife.

He said the investigation is continuing.

According to online jail records, Gearhart is being detained on no bond. He was booked into the jail just after 7:30 p.m. and is scheduled to be in court on Friday.
