Police began the investigation based on citizen complaints and developed information that led to the warrant, he said. Police were still in the house and on the property as late as 8:30 p.m.
Spencer said he contacted the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation when police found materials consistent with the making of meth, as well as "other items of value" in the house. He did not give any details about those items.
At least two people stay at the residence from time to time, Spencer said, and there were not there Tuesday. No arrests have been made.
Whether the residents were making meth in the house or on the property remains under investigation, he said.
Police are looking for a person of interest, someone he said police have dealt with in connection with drug investigations.
