Motorcyclist taken to hospital after near-crash in Washington Twp.

A motorcycle rider was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after a car moved left of center into the motorcycle’s path, forcing the rider to lay the motorcycle down on its side to avoid a collision.

According to a release from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office in Washington Township, deputies were called to the intersection of Rahn Road and Viewpoint Drive at 9:48 p.m. for a report of an injury crash.

On investigation, the deputies reported that a 2013 Volkswagen was travelling southbound on Rahn Road. When passing Viewpoint Drive, the release said the car drove left of center into the path of a 2003 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, which was also travelling southbound.

The motorcyclist lay down the bike to avoid a crash, and was taken to Kettering Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

This crash remains under investigation by the Traffic Services Unit of the sheriff’s office.
