Muncie woman found dead in tanning bed

Police in Muncie, Ind., said the death of a woman who was found in a tanning bed is under investigation.

The woman was found unresponsive at Island Tan in the 700 block of South Tillotson Avenue on Wednesday morning.

Police said when the 62-year-old woman did not emerge from the tanning booth 10 minutes after her session ended an employee went to check on her.

Officers said there is no indication of foul play. They said a formal cause of death won’t be issued until laboratory tests are completed.
