NAACP to head to D.C. March

The community is invited to join the members of the Dayton Unit NAACP as they travel to the Washington, D.C. for the 50th Anniversary of The March on Washington.

The unit’s charter bus will depart 10:15 p.m. Aug. 23 from the Northwest Shopping Center, 3183 Siebenthaler Ave. and return sometime around 2 a.m. on Aug. 25, according to Derrick Foward, unit president.

Cost for this unit event is $100 a person.

The national march is being hosted by the National Action Network and Martin Luther King III and will be held 8 a.m. Sat., Aug. 24 at the Lincoln Memorial on the National Mall.

NAACP t-shirts, paraphernalia and signage will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis at the NAACP’s rally location in D.C.
