New business for Hendrickson Road approved by commission

MIDDLETOWN — A new business will be setting up its headquarters on Hendrickson Road.

The Middletown Planning Commission unanimously approved a use adjustment application for Eazy Dry, a restoration contracting business, at its monthly meeting Wednesday night.

Business owner Steve Rountree will be leasing a building at 6438 Hendrickson Road. The company provides water, storm and fire damage clean-up and building restoration in conjunction with his construction company, Treehouse Construction.

He started operating the business strictly as a construction company, but after offering emergency clean-up services through Eazy Dry, Rountree said business doubled.

While having plenty of work is normally a good problem, Rountree said it made it necessary to find a new point of operation other than his home on Monarch Drive.

“Obviously you can’t be located in a subdivision when you are growing like we do,” he said.

The majority of his customers are located in Dayton and Cincinnati, so Middletown is ideally situated to serve at the company’s headquarters for both markets, Rountree said.

The new Eazy Dry office will serve as the call-out location for its 24/7 emergency servicing and be the center for its accounting, estimates and scheduling operations. Customers can also stop by the business to view samples for replacement materials to be used in the restoration.

The office will employ about eight people, and Rountree said that number could double if business continues to increase.
