NEW DETAILS: 7 things to know about contract for new Miamisburg superintendent

Miamisburg city schools has given its new superintendent a four-year contract.

The school district’s agreement with Laura Blessing, the 48-year-old superintendent of Northeastern Wayne Schools in Fountain City, Ind., to succeed the retiring David Vail includes several terms in its five pages.

Among them are:

•It will begin Aug. 1 and end July 31, 2024.

•An annual base salary of $145,000, with yearly possible increases to $148,625, $152,341 and $156,149.

•Blessing will secure a legal residence in the Miamisburg City School District within a year and maintain it through the duration of her contracts.

•Up to $2,500 in moving expenses.

•Upon request of the board, Blessing agrees to submit to a comprehensive physical and/or psychiatric examination.

•The board of education providing 25 days of vacation with pay each year, paying all of her retirement contribution to the State Teacher’s Retirement System on all salary, and all health insurance benefits and a life insurance in the amount of two times her annual.

•The board will evaluate Blessing’s performance “in writing at least annually” and she will be shall be subject to discharge in accordance with the Ohio Revised Code.
