NEW INFO: Multiple cities involved in chase that ends in crash in Huber Heights

A 28-year-old Springfield man is facing multiple felony charges following a chase through Springfield and part of Clark County that ultimately ended in the area of Interstate 70 and Interstate 75 near Huber Heights.

Billy Woolard III faces charges of failure to comply and felonious assault.

According to court records, Woolard is accused of running a red light on North Western Avenue, when an officer attempted to stop him for not having a front license plate.

Woolard had felony warrants already out for failure to comply and receiving stolen property, according to court documents.

Woolard is accused of fleeing at speeds of 120 mph, before officers lost him in the area of Upper Valley Pike and Ohio 4.  A short time later Springfield police were able to spot him again on Ohio 4.

While fleeing, Woolard is accused of driving toward a sheriff’s deputy who was attempting to throw stop sticks under the tires of the vehicle.

Police and deputies were eventually able to stop Woolard on I-70 in Huber Heights following a crash near I-75.

He’s currently in the Clark County Jail.
