Wesley Prophett, former Airman, personal trainer and new recreational assistant at the Wright Field Fitness Center, hopes to connect with and inspire the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base community by bringing his knowledge and fitness expertise to the table.

After serving four years in the Air Force, Prophett was inspired and looked to fitness as a career.

“After I served in the Air Force, I got more serious about my health. I began to see positive changes from a more serious workout routine,” he said. “Ultimately, I discovered I loved all aspects of fitness and I pursued it as a career.”

Prophett has worked as a personal trainer for the past two years. Designing workouts for clients and teaching them, he has successfully trained about 30 regular clients. All of Prophett’s clients started at various ages and levels of fitness.

“It’s very rewarding to introduce people to fitness and help them realize their potential,” he said. “Fitness changed my life; I wouldn’t have made it to where I am now without it. I want people to know that their goals are possible.”

Prophett looks forward to helping increase staff’s knowledge on fitness and working with the military community.

“I’m excited to apply my knowledge and skills here. I miss the comradery of the military and I am looking forward to working with both military and civilians here,” he continued. “The people here are great and whether I am working with active military, retirees or civilians I feel that comradery here.”

Various exercise classes are available across Wright-Patterson AFB’s fitness centers. Classes can be free of charge or cost a small fee. Types of classes offered vary from high-intensity interval training to yoga. Classes are open to anybody with access to the base.
