Arriving crews found light smoke in the house, possibly from inside some of the walls, said Lt. Chuck Balaj, Oakwood Public Safety Department.
Family members called the fire department and got out without any injuries, the lieutenant said.
The house is livable, he said, although power to the residence will be shut down so crews can trace the source of the problem.
