Ohio carries out death penalty at Lucasville

A man who shot to death his three sons in 1982 has been executed at the prison in Lucasville.  Reginald Brooks of East Cleveland died from lethal injection just after 2 o’clock Tuesday afternoon.  Brooks attorneys argued that Brooks suffered from schizophrenia making him incompetent for execution.  Prosecutors countered that even with the mental illness Brooks was competent.  Prosecutors contended that the murders were committed in vengeance against his wife who divorced him shortly before the crime.
