Ten traffic fatalities were reported over Labor Day weekend, which is two fewer than last year, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Alcohol was a contributing factor in at least two fatalities, three motorists were not using a seat belt and two motorcyclists killed in crashes were not wearing helmets.

During the reporting period, Friday, Aug. 30 at midnight to Monday, Sept. 2 at 11:59 p.m., troopers:
- Conducted 30,231 traffic enforcement stops
- Conducted 16,794 non-enforcement stops
- Made 661 OVI arrests
- Made 346 drug arrests
- Made 4,078 safety belt citations
- Made 151 felony apprehensions
- Assisted 3,387 motorist
