'One Run for Boston' passes through Dayton

Runners from around the nation gathered Sunday morning to participate in the One Run for Boston, a coast to coast relay with the purpose of raising money for victims last year's Boston bombings.

The running is 24/7 as participants pass the baton across the country. The relay features 336 stages. Dayton hosted stage 242, which was a 10-mile run.

The running commenced around 5 a.m. Elizabeth Grey, of Columbia, S.C., traveled to Dayton to participate in the relay. Grey said, "I am honored to be a part of something so special, a way for all of us to give back."

The One Run for Boston began March 16 in Santa Monica, Calif. The relay ends April 13, which is two days before the anniversary of the Boston bombing.

The relay will continue through Ohio until the baton reaches Eldersville, Pa. Running in Pennsylvania is estimated to begin just before 4 a.m. Monday.
