The strong winds caused a lot of trees to fall on power lines, causing the outages, said Kabel.

Maintenance crews must first remove the trees safely before DP&L can work to restore power, Kabel said.

DP&L had extra crews and dispatch working Saturday and into Sunday. A fresh crew is working to restore the remaining outages.
