OVI checkpoint tonight in Butler County

The Butler County OVI Task Force will be conducting an OVI checkpoint tonight on Main Street in Hamilton.

The sobriety checkpoint starts at 10 p.m. and ends no later than 2 a.m. Saturday on westbound Main Street (state Route 129) at F Street.

State law requires police to announce the times and locations of checkpoints ahead of time.

The checkpoints, along with extra patrols in the area, are part of continuing efforts to reduce crashes involving impaired drivers that lead to injuries and fatalities, the task force said.
