Pedestrian dies in crash at Butler/Hamilton county line

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a car Thursday night on a stretch of roadway that straddles Fairfield in Butler County and Springfield Twp. in Hamilton County.

The victim was a 46-year-old man who had been seen stumbling earlier in the night, police told our media partner WCPO-TV in Cincinnati. His name was not released.

The driver of the car that hit the man stopped and was cooperating with the investigation, WCPO reported.

A portion of John Gray Road was closed Thursday night for a serious crash involving a pedestrian.

The crash was reported shortly after 9 p.m. in the 2000 block of John Gray Road, which straddles Springfield Twp. in Hamilton County and Fairfield in Butler County.

According to initial reports, a male was struck by a car. There is no word on the victim’s name, age or condition.

John Gray Road is closed at Polo Springs Court in Fairfield, but the crash happened on the south side of the street in Hamilton County.

Springfield Twp. police are handling the crash investigation.
