A Perry Twp. man who stabbed a woman, critically injuring her at a home on Wolf Creek Pike last summer will avoid trial after entering a guilty plea to two counts of felonious assault.
Tyler Minton, 31, stabbed the woman, who was found standing near the road, bleeding profusely the night of the July 17 stabbing, prosecutors said.
“At the same time, the officers observed (Minton), who was nude, in the driveway of the residence,” prosecutors said in a statement. Minton also was holding a cell phone and had blood on him when he was taken into custody, prosecutors added.
Minton told police that another man, who was arrested and later released uncharged, was responsible for the stabbing.
“Further investigation, including surveillance video and statements from the victim identified the defendant as the perpetrator and that the other male had not committed any crimes,” prosecutors said.
Minton is scheduled to be sentenced Feb. 15 and remains in the Montgomery County Jail.
