Piqua woman is driver in fatal crash near Van Wert

A 20-year-old Cleveland man was killed after he was ejected from a car driven by a Piqua woman Thursday evening in Paulding County.

Kimberly A. Staudt, 20, was driving a 2003 Buick Regal south on Ohio 49 about 7:20 p.m. when she drifted off the right side of the road, over-corrected, went left of center and off the edge of the road, striking a utility pole, according to the Ohio Highway Patrol Post in Van Wert.

Her rear-seat passenger, Manuel T. Robles Jr., was ejected. He died at the scene, the patrol stated.

Staudt and front-seat passenger, 26-year-old Anna V. Penny of Covington, Ohio, suffered injuries that were not life-threatening, troopers said.

The crash remains under investigation.
