Just after midnight Couch was delivering an order to 1205 Everett Drive when an unidentified suspect pulled a gun on him, Dayton Police Sergeant Jon Zimmerman confirmed.
The suspect shot at Couch as he pulled away, shooting through his back, passenger window and piercing the windshield.
“Is it worth my life to bring somebody their food?” Couch said. “I’m just trying to do my job.”
As soon as Couch drove away from the shooting scene, he called his boss to report the incident who then called police. Dayton officers responded to the Domino’s store to write a police report and to take fingerprints from Couch’s vehicle.
Last Saturday night a 36-year-old Domino's employee from the same Main Street storefront was shot in the back as he was attempting a delivery at Wabash and Marathon avenues. The suspect in that shooting was taken into custody after he crashed the delivery man's vehicle that he had stolen after shooting him.
Last night’s shooting occurred less than two miles from the shooting on May 26.
