Portable toilet ‘disintegrated’ after firework explodes inside in Springboro

A man and two juvenile males were arrested after setting off a firework described as a “mortar round.”

Investigators are still gathering information as to the motive behind the explosion, and it is unclear what charges the suspects might face.

UPDATE @ 12:45 a.m.:

An adult and two juveniles are in custody after an explosion “disintegrated” a portable toilet at a construction site off Factory Road in Springboro, according to police on the scene. 
Police told our photographer that around 11:05 p.m. Saturday, residents heard a loud boom. When officers responded, they found that the toilet had exploded and took the three people into custody. 


Springboro police are searching for the source of a loud noise in the city after residents reported an “explosion noise.”
