Two dogs were found abandoned at the Montgomery County Animal Resource Center last Friday, and officials are asking for the public’s help in identifying the people responsible.

Around 3:20 p.m. on June 9, two dogs were found tied to a bench outside the building at 6790 Webster Street in Dayton, according to a media release from the Montgomery County ARC.

Officials said security cameras captured a woman exit a dark-colored SUV from the passenger side, remove the dogs from the vehicle, and tied them to a bench. The cameras didn’t capture the vehicle’s license plate.

One of the dogs is described as a female, tan and white chihuahua mix. The other dog is a male, black and white pit bull.

ARC said the people responsible could face charges, and abandoning a companion animal is a second degree misdemeanor in Ohio.

If you recognize the vehicle or the woman in the pictures, you’re asked to contact the ARC at 937-898-4457.
