Heavy smoke and flames were showing Tuesday evening on at least three sides of a Piqua house when firefighters responded.
The fire was reported around 6:10 p.m. in the 600 block of South Wayne Street.
Crews also were called from Covington and Fletcher to assist.
According to Piqua Police Lt. Jerry Fogt, the house was vacant, as the previous occupants had already moved out. However, he was unsure if the occupants had left any property behind.
The fire was called in by a neighbor, Fogt said, and the house had likely been on fire for some time before the fire department was called.
There were no injuries to his knowledge, Fogt said.
