Minor injuries in crash involving ODOT truck in Clay Twp.

UPDATE @ 10:15 a.m. 

A pickup truck driver suffered minor injuries after colliding with an ODOT truck at the intersection of Ohio 49 and U.S. 40 in Clay Twp. Tuesday morning.

State troopers said the ODOT truck was traveling west on U.S. 40, and attempted to turn south onto Ohio 49 when the dump truck crashed into the pickup truck, who was traveling east on U.S. 40.

Investigators were not sure which driver was at fault but said the sun and limited visibility might have been a factor.

The pickup truck driver suffered minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital for observation. The driver of the ODOT truck was not injured

Additional details were not available and the crash remains under investigation.

FIRST REPORT

One person is reportedly trapped following a crash between a dump truck and a pickup on Ohio 49 at U.S. 40 in Clay Twp.

Fire crews responded to the intersection around 8:55 a.m. and reported one person inside the pickup truck was trapped inside the vehicle.

Additional details were not immediately available.
