The historical society had the banner, which was destroyed in the 1974 tornado, reproduced, using public donations.
The flag is hand-painted with “Ohio True to the Union” on one side, and “Ohio Has Sent 291,952 of Her Gallant Sons to the Field” on the other. Work was done by Jeff Pollock of Historic Flag Company in Birdsboro, Penn.
