Richmond doctor and family in plane crash

A Richmond, IN doctor and his family were in a plane crash Friday morning in Michigan.

Dr. William Fisher and his wife Barbara, both 70, their son Bryce and his girlfriend Miritha Morales, were heading to a family function, according to our news partners at KICKS 96 radio when the Piper PA-24 Comanche went down. Their injuries were not considered life-threatening, though the mother and son had more serious injuries. They were treated at a local hospital in St. Joseph, Michigan, according to an FAA investigator.

The pilot was identified as Bryce Fisher, 32. Dr. Fisher was the co-pilot. He is a doctor at Reid Hospital in Richmond, according to Jeff Lane at KICKS 96.

The pilot reported having engine failure, according to local reports. The aircraft landed about five feet from a home on N. Bluff St., and there was no damage to the home.
