Riverside city manager abruptly resigns

Riverside City Manager Bryan Chodkowski resigned Thursday after nine years at the helm of the Dayton suburb, and a temporary replacement already has been selected.

On Thursday night, Riverside City Council accepted Chodkowski’s resignation.

“He resigned yesterday afternoon,” Councilman Steven Fullenkamp said Friday. “I found out he resigned when I walked into the meeting last night.”

Emily Christian, who previously worked for the city of Huber Heights, was named interim city manager of Riverside, according to the city’s website.

Fullenkamp said he was unsure what prompted Chodkowski’s resignation, effective immediately.

Chodkowski also resigned Friday as president of the Dayton Area Mayors and Managers Association.
