A Shelby County dispatch supervisor said the kennel is housed in a separate structure and that “the animals are not in danger.”
The fire burned enough, however, that a collapse caused possible injury to two firefighters, who were being examined by officials at the scene. The dispatch supervisor said one person was transported to a local hospital, but he did not know if it was a firefighter, resident or otherwise.
The fire was reported contained at about 11:20 p.m., the supervisor said.
