‘I’m scared to death,’ homeowner says after deer jumps through his window

A deer jumped through a window of a Xenia residence Wednesday evening, Xenia police confirmed.

“I’ve had a deer run through my patio door and it’s on the inside of my house,” the homeowner told 911 dispatchers.

The incident happened around 5:30 p.m. in the 100 block of North Columbus Street.

“He’s torn up my patio door, he’s tearing up the inside of my house,” the owner said.

The man said he woke up from a nap after he heard the deer crash through his window.

“It’s a great big deer, I mean huge,” he said. “I’m scared to death.”

About 20 minutes later, the deer ran out of the back door towards an alley, according to dispatch records.

No injuries were reported.
