Naked man spotted near Mercer County bike path; suspect in custody

A tip from the public led to the arrest of a man accused of appearing naked in public near a bike path.

Dustin Ray Green, 23, of Celina, was arrested today and booked into the Mercer County Adult Detention Center on suspicion of public indecency and littering, both misdemeanors, Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey announced.

FIRST REPORT (July 9):

Deputies have been responding to numerous sightings of a naked man near a bike path.

The first report was made around 11:30 a.m. June 30 when the man was spotted walking near a bike path between St. Anthony and Fleetwood roads, Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey stated in a news release.

The man is described as a man with a medium build between the ages of 20 and 30 with a clean shaven face.

Since then, deputies responded to similar reports of the man. He also has been seen riding a dark-colored bicycle and carrying a backpack. He has been spotted during early morning and midday hours.

Deputies have stepped up patrols in the area, and anyone with information or who sees the man is urged to call the sheriff’s office at 419-586-7724.
