Shop encourages ENVY

The boutique at The Greene offers a wide array of hot fashions and accessories.

BEAVERCREEK — Tara and Shayna Arnold want fashion lovers to spend their green at ENVY.

The mother-daughter duo travel yearly to Los Angeles and New York City, buying clothing, shoes, handbags, home decor and jewelry to stock their designer boutique, ENVY XO XO, at The Greene.

“It was my dream, my whole life, and we both love fashion,” Tara said.

Her daughter, Shayna, has helped since the shop opened in May 2007. She will leave soon to study fashion at the University of Cincinnati.

The boutique offers lines from well-known designers like Betsey Johnson and Black Halo, mid-priced lines like Free People and BB Dakota, and jewelry from designers including Nicole Richie’s House of Harlow.

“We carry several designer lines exclusive to ENVY” in the Dayton market, Arnold said. In addition to sales in the shop, she also has developed a second customer base through the boutique’s Web site.

Product appeal, she added, spans the generations.

“We sell from teens to grandmas,” Arnold said.

The Arnolds also hold area fashion shows, including an upcoming event Sept. 25 at South Beach Nite Club in Centerville.

Arnold’s professional background has kept her in jobs requiring an ability to deal with people. She worked for 10 years as a registered nurse before becoming a Realtor. Her husband, Rob, established the Beavercreek office for Prudential One, Realtors. They also own Coventry Fine Homes, which built the Beavercreek home featured on ABC’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.”

ENVY XO XO is located at 73 Chestnut St. Hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sundays.
