The fire that started Sunday in a Springfield Twp. home is being traced to a dryer in the basement of the home.

Fire crews arrived at 2525 Springfield-Xenia Road shortly before 11 a.m. No one was injured, but part of Springfield-Xenia Road was shut down so crews could battle the fire.

Officials at the scene said the state fire marshal has been contacted and will investigate. Fire officials believe it started in the dryer simply because it was in use at the time.

Several agencies assisted Springfield Twp. in battling the fire. No damage estimates have been made available yet.

The residents run a herb and vitamin shop next to the house called Miesse’s Herbs. That business will reportedly stay open.
