Sobriety checkpoint underway in Dayton

The OVI Task Force of Montgomery County is operating a sobriety checkpoint in the area of South Smithville Road and Linden Avenue in Dayton.

The checkpoint is from 8 p.m. to midnight.

State law requires that law enforcement reveal the times and locations of OVI checkpoints.

OVI checkpoints and enhanced patrols are part of an effort by law enforcement agencies to deter and arrest impaired drivers.

Dayton police, as well as officers from the task force, will operate the checkpoint.
