The City of Springboro is developing 108 acres of land across the creek from Clearcreek Park on Lower Springboro Road as Hazel Woods Park.
The Eagle Bridge Co. will begin work on a bridge across the creek in March. The bridge should be complete by early fall, according to the city. Once the bridge is complete, the city will begin to develop the park, which is ultimately planned to include a dog park, 12 sports fields, a playground and a concession stand.

Little Miami Schools to reconfigure elementaries
The Little Miami Local school board recently approved reconfiguring grade levels in its elementary buildings for the 2016-17 school year in order to accommodate growing student enrollment.
“Where we currently have capacity is unfortunately not where we have the greatest need,” Superintendent Greg Power said. “We have space in our newer buildings where grades 5-12 are housed, but we have the greatest space challenges beginning to occur at our PreK-4 levels.”
Starting this fall, Little Miami preschool and kindergarten students will be relocated to the portion of Salem Township Elementary that currently houses first and second grades. Harlan-Butlerville and Hamilton-Maineville elementary schools will become first- and second-grade buildings only.
All other grade configurations will remain the same, with the district’s third- and fourth-graders attending Salem Township Elementary; fifth- and sixth-graders at Little Miami Intermediate School; seventh- and eighth-graders at Little Miami Junior High School; and students in grades nine through 12 at Little Miami High School.
Power said the district is still determining attendance zones for the Butlerville and Maineville schools.
Little Miami’s current enrollment is 4,482 students, he said, adding that the district is growing by about 200 students per year and its capacity is 4,950 seats. LISA KNODEL, CONTRIBUTING WRITER
