An lawsuit filed by a Clark County doctor alleges an accountant embezzeled several hundreds of thousands of dollars from Springfield Endrocrinology and Internal Medicine Inc.

Dr. M. Husain Jawadi filed the lawsuit last week against Columbus-based Berger and Associates, and employees Pamela J. Marton and Dale W. Marton. Jawadi also accuses the accounting firm and the Martons of not filing the practice’s taxes on time.

Berger and Associates could not be reached for comment, and the Martons also did  not return calls seeking comment.

Dan Harkins, Jawadi’s attorney, said  his client wished to decline comment.

An attachment to the lawsuit lists more than 200 checks, dated from 2010-17, that allegedly contained the forged signature of Jawadi. The amount combined totals hundreds of thousands of dollars, but the lawsuit said there could be even more.
