Springfield festival to highlight education of butterflies

The Monarch Festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 27 at the NTPRD Buck Creek Nature Park, located behind Carleton Davidson Stadium.

The family-friendly festival monarch education, live bluegrass bands, featuring the Muleskinner Band, Mad River Railroad and Pinnacle Ridge, arts and craft vendors, prairie and butterfly walks and food trucks.

A highlight will be the children’s craft tent, including a collaborative art project sponsored by the Springfield Museum of Art. The festival is sponsored by Veterinary Services of Springfield.
