UPDATE @ 10:50 p.m.: Police are continuing their efforts to piece together what led to one male being run over Tuesday afternoon on West Grand Avenue and the shooting of two males who showed up at Springfield Regional Medical Center, which was locked down for a time.

The lock down was necessitated by the fact that the two male shooting victims had been brought to the hospital by private conveyance.

Springfield police now say their investigation reveals that the victim who was run over and dragged was not shot. He likely suffered head trauma and remains in an area hospital, police said.

Police dispatched on a shots fired call found that victim in a yard.

The two gunshot victims had been taken from the area before police and a medic unit arrived, police said.

Police did find shell casings and the windows shot out of a parked vehicle on West Grand Avenue. The medical conditions of the three males have not been made known.
