A gas leak in on Fourth Avenue in Springfield Twp. is under control, said Clark County dispatchers.

The leak was reported in the 100 block of Fourth Avenue around 11 a.m. after an Ohio Edison crew struck a gas line while digging for a pole.

The immediate area was evacuated, according to dispatchers, and roads were closed as a result of the leak.

Around 11:30 a.m. crews reported that the leak was under control.

No injuries or illnesses have been reported at this time according to dispatchers.
