The store is anticipated to open next spring. Staples provides products, services and expertise in office supplies, copy and print, technology, facilities, break room and furniture.
Scott Mitchell, vice president of the strategic investment fund at Phillips Edison & Company, said he is excited about adding “another first-class retailer” to Bridgewater Falls.
“Staples is a national retailer that adds an important use and convenience service for our very important customers, the shoppers of Bridgewater Falls,” Mitchell said. “They are the best retailer in the office superstore category. This was a category missing at Bridgewater Falls that our customers wanted and needed.”
Bridgewater Falls, which has 52 tenants, opened in late 2004. Anchor stores include Target, JCPenney, Best Buy, Old Navy, T.J. Maxx, Bed Bath & Beyond, Dick’s Sporting Goods, PetSmart, ULTA and Michaels.
The shopping center’s website lists 13 available spaces, which may be combined to a larger space, if requested.
Smashburger and Aspen Dental opened last month. Sport Clips is scheduled to open in the coming weeks, according to Bridgewater Falls officials. AT&T also is on the way, but a projected opening date has not yet been decided.
Staples, which has a Hamilton location slightly more than five miles away, maintains multiple locations based on “the size of the market and the amount of small businesses surrounding the market,” according to company spokeswoman Carrie McElwee.
