Street Rodder Road Tour visits Tipp City

Drive-by-Lokar Road Tour, featuring dozens of historic and pristine street rods, visited Tipp City during its week-long cruise from Pigeon Forge, TN to the NRSA Nationals in Kalamazoo, MI.

While in Tipp City, Tour participants had the opportunity to visit Butch's Cool Stuff, Rod & Custom Solutions, a Tipp City-based business that specializes in '30s, '40s and '50s Plymouth and Dodge cars, along with Ford and Mercury cars from 1949 through 1959.

The stop in Tipp City is part of the 2012 AMSOIL/Street Rodder Road Tour, in which Street Rodder invites readers to take part in eight week-long family vacation tours.

The cars were in Tipp City until 10:30 a.m. and then left for Youngstown, Ohio. The cars were on display on Main Street at Third Street.

The AMSOIL/Street Rodder Road Tour began in 1996 and over the last 16 years, different state-of-the-art street rods have traveled more than 400,000 miles. Each summer, Street Rodder readers are invited to take part in eight week-long family vacation tours.

Each tour begins at a major automotive event and travels to another event usually about 1,000 miles away. During the week, the Tour visits manufacturing facilities, automotive museums and private car collections. Each tour provides unique and memorable experiences of the time spent on the road with fellow car enthusiasts.
