Tobin, who lived in the 7000 block of North Ridge Boulevard in Chicago, was found unresponsive Saturday morning on a porch in the 1000 block of West Belden Avenue, near DePaul University, according to CBS Chicago.
They reported that he was pronounced dead at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Stein Institute.
An autopsy Sunday found that Tobin died of craniocerebral injuries suffered from a fall, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. CBS Chicago also reported that the medical examiner listed alcohol intoxication was a contributing factor and Tobin’s death was ruled an accident.
“We extend our deepest sympathy and prayers to Bill's family, friends, professors and our campus community,” Curran said in the email. University officials said Tobin was a marketing major. His sister, Margaret, graduated in May with a bachelor's degree in sociology.
A 4 p.m. visitation followed by a 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial are scheduled for Tuesday at St. Gertrude Church, 1420 West Granville Ave., Chicago.
University officials said a campus memorial service will be scheduled and announced at a later date.
