“Right now all we know is a cream colored car, a four-door sedan…a black female passenger with a head scarf. We know that much at this point,” Dayton Sgt. Michael Godsey said.
Two students were walking to school in the area of the Broadway Street bridge near Edison and Riverview when they heard a “popping” noise come from a cream colored car, according to police.
The girl who was hit, a seventh-grader, felt a sting and went to the school’s clinic after arriving to school on North Broadway Street. A wound was discovered in her chest area.
The shooting occurred at about 8:30 a.m., police said.
Police took statements from both students. No arrests have been made.
