Suspected water main break in Northridge causes heavy flooding

UPDATE @ 7:33 a.m.

Montgomery County Water Services has arrived to the scene of a reported water main break in Northridge, according to our crew at the scene.

Since arriving, the water crew has significantly reduced the amount of water at the intersection of Wire Drive and Brandon Road, our reporter said.

A crew member with the water service was not sure how long it will take to maintain and clean up the area.

No roads have been closed at this time due to the issue.

INITIAL REPORT (Nov. 19)

A reported water main break in Northridge has flooded an area of Wire Drive Saturday morning.

Our crew at the scene says a large amount of water is covering the ground at the intersection of Wire Drive and Brandon Road.

A caller into our newsroom reports his basement is slightly flooded due to the suspected water main break.

Dispatchers confirmed they are unaware of the issue, but are sending crews to assess the situation.
