The Foodbank of Dayton will be open on Monday and Wednesday next week.

The drive-thru food pantry and walk-up window at 56 Armor Place will be open two days next week from 10 a.m. to noon.

Lee Lauren Truesdale, The Foodbank’s Chief Development Officer, said senior food boxes will be available for pick-up Tuesday and Thursday next week from 10 a.m. to noon for those who are already in the Commodity Supplemental Food Program.

Any senior who already is part of that program should have received a call from the Foodbank telling them how to pick up that box, Truesdale said.

The Foodbank served upwards of 700 people a day at its drive-thru pantry this past week, Truesdale said. It also plans to do more mass distributions in Greene or Preble counties in the near future after making improvements to traffic patterns.

For those who don’t have a car, there is a walk-up window that anyone who doesn’t arrive in a car can use, Truesdale said.

The Dayton Regional Transit Authority bus line 8 drops riders off closest to their building, Truesdale said. The Foodbank encourages people without access to transportation to carpool with someone they know who does have access to a car.
