“You have to sell the acting just by your voice,” Taylor said. Students will have to hope the audience believes them.
The radio theater production, which will include some sound effects, is based on L. Ron Hubbard’s play of the same name about a couple swapping their indentities.
Cartwright, a Fairmont graduate, will join a cast mostly made up of Fairmont students.
The recital hall allows the production to be a “very intimate experience,” Taylor said.
Taylor also said he wants the event to honor the “power of the written and spoken word.” Sometimes society gets caught up in special effects, he said.
ABC 22/Fox 45 morning anchor Pete Scalia will be a narrator for the producation.
The event is a fundraiser for the school’s theater department and some proceeds will be given to Project Read — a coalition of public and private organizations designed to promote literacy in the Miami Valley.
