History: As the festival has grown, the village doesn't forget its humble beginnings. The festival started with one tent, a few rides, handful of vendors, and a parade. This year's festival is expected to host 80,000 to 100,000 people during the three-day event if the weather holds out.

Final Corn Festival Queen: Each year, the festival crowns a Corn Festival Queen, comprising of senior girls from the Northeastern School District . This will be the final year for the festival staple. The event will be replaced by a scholarship fund award for graduating Northeastern boys and girls in 2017. Last year's winner was Lindsey Whitley. The crowning will take place on at 8pm Thursday at South Vienna Elementary School.
Honorees and Grand Marshall: This year, the festival will honor those residents who have called South Vienna their home for 40 years and more. Grand Marshal Junior Windel has lived in South Vienna for 70 years. Windel will lead the parade starting at 2 p.m. Saturday. Prior to the Sunday Worship Service, the Christian Motorcycle Association will perform a Sept. 11 tribute show.
