Dozens without power as afternoon storms move through region

(UPDATE @ 9:03 p.m.): Dozens are without power across the region tonight after strong and severe storms moved through the area Tuesday afternoon.

At 9 p.m., Dayton Power & Light was reporting approximately 148 outages:

Preble County: 55

Montgomery: 52

Greene: 40

At 5:30 p.m., Dayton Power & Light was reporting approximately 1,019 on its online map:

Greene County: 461

Montgomery: 214

Preble: 197

Champaign: 143

Darke, Miami: 1 each

Duke Energy is reporting 65 in Monroe (Butler County)

At 3:30 p.m., just over 2,500 customers were reporting power outages, with the majority of the outages in Greene, Butler, and Montgomery counties.

Power was initially knocked out to just under 5,000 people at 3 p.m. but outages were nearly cut in half in about 30 minutes, according to online outage maps.
